35 HARDWORKING NIGERIANS DISTRIBUTES HUNDREDS OF MEDICAL MATERIALS AT IJEBU-ODE

Babcock International Model United Nations (BIMUN) in partnership with Babcock University Association of Medical Students (BUAMS) successfully executed an outreach tagged “The Ijebu-Ode Illuminate Outreach”.

The illuminate outreach was held in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State on 10th November, 2019 and featured:
1. Free Medical Checkup
2. Health talk
3. Eye Check-up/Donation of Reading Glasses
4. Distribution of drugs
5. Distribution of eyedrops and reading glasses.
6. Distribution of about 200 Malaria Preventive Materials

The illuminate outreach is part of BIMUN Nigeria’s contribution towards the achievement of the #SDGs and also the provision of better health care services for the indigenes of Ijebu-Ode community.

Moreover, medical professionals were available and they attended to the complaints of everyone present at the venue of the outreach.

The Executive Director, BIMUN Nigeria; Mr Samuel C. Chiemela was present alongside the President of BUAMS; Mr Terry Ndukeobong Etokakpan with key officials of BIMUN Nigeria who were on ground to offer support and assist in areas that were not medically related.

There is no gainsaying the fact that this partnership between BIMUN and BUAMS is a strong indication that the #SDG17 on partnership is really important in achieving more and delivering better results towards community development.

Interestingly, hundreds of residents of Ijebu-Ode benefitted from this outreach and that’s the joy of the two organizations that executed this exercise. Such partnership to produce impact wouldn’t loose relevance at BIMUN Nigeria as we are poised to do more.

It is important to reiterate that we at BIMUN Nigeria wouldn’t relent in raising global giants that would create positive impact wherever duty calls.

Sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed immensely towards the success of this outreach. Undoubtedly, “The reward for good work is more work”; Hence young people wouldn’t relent in giving back to their society and building the sustainable communities that they deisre.

On the long run, our commitment to substantive excellence is assured and the essence of Model United Nations would continuously be redefined.
